Title:  Freelance Writer / Journalist

Reports To:  Editor-in-Chief, Mary Elise Chavez

Responsibilities: Timely submission of articulate and concise articles that communicate ideas succinctly and effectively. Articles should be between 750-1,000 words unless otherwise specified. Please consult our Mission statement  for insight on who we are, what we stand for, and most importantly, what we hope to offer Women around the world with our online magazine. Content produced should be innovative, fresh, and intriguing.

Desirable Submission Topics (include but are not limited to):
Beauty: Make-Up, Skin Care, Hair Care, Trends, Product Reviews
Fashion: Advice, Trends, Designer Reports, Accessories, Interior Design
Lifestyle: Leisure, Travel, Technology, Religion, Relationships, Family, Health/Fitness, Culinary, Music/Film Reviews
The Arts: Art, Music, Architecture, Photography, Cinema, Theatre
Photography: Reviews, New Artists, New Movements, Short Biographies
Modern Woman: Inspiring Women, Women Organizations, Women Empowerment, Women Around the World, Issues that Affect Women today
Current Events: Politics, News, Science, Business, Volunteer Opportunities, Awareness Campaigns

- Please keep in mind we are not interested in promoting dieting, sex advice, or any kind of celebrity-centered editorials. Do not email us writing samples which focus on the previous.

*Opinion / Editorial columns are welcome for all sections.

Remuneration: To be discussed. Articles published on MaryElise.com are subject to preliminary and final review by our Editors. We reserve the right to decline submissions that fail to meet our standards for quality and/or content.

Qualifications:
- BA in English or Journalism preferred but not required
- Writing/Editorial experience
- Must be a motivated self starter
- Open to constructive criticism and/or creative direction
- Honest, trustworthy, reliable and ethical
- Passionate desire for the empowerment of Women
